CONTINUOUS FLOW
BATCH
WASTEWATER RECYCLING
FLUORIDE LEVELS TO < 2MG/L
Manchester offers complete systems for fluoride removal backed
by many years of experience in the semiconductor and allied
industries. Systems are available for continuous removal of
fluoride or batch treatment of dilute or concentrate wastes.
Typical treatment systems precipitate the fluoride as a calcium
fluoride with the calcium source being either calcium chloride
or lime. Fluoride solubility limits the performance of calcium-based
systems to approximately 15-20 mg/L depending on what other
components are in the waste. Low fluoride discharges require
aluminum or other low solubility cations to precipitate the
fluoride to levels between 0 and 10 mg/L.
Manchester also offers complete wastewater treatment systems
for the semiconductor industry. Tin and tin-Iead removal systems
with water recycling have also been furnished for the semiconductor
industry as well as CMP waste treatment systems.
Manchester water recycling systems have produced up to 10-megohm/cm
quality water suitable for mixed bed polishing. Recycling
systems in the semiconductor industry have won EPA awards
and been on-line for approximately 5 years.
COMPUTER CONTROLS
Computer controls with programmable logic controller (PLC)
interface provide the advantage of a superior control system
by minimizing chemical usage, automatically maintaining records
necessary for local and EPA compliance, providing process
trends and other items such as preventative maintenance.
