MULTI-MEDIA
GREENSAND
CARBON 1000 GPM SYSTEM

MANCHESTER Hi-Rate Filters are available in a variety of materials and configurations. Units are furnished as stand alone units or multiple units - skid mounted and manifolded together. Manual and automatic controls and monitoring systems are available with PLC and graphic interface. Filters are available complying with ASME Section VII, Division 1, and code stamped. Internals are available in stainless steel, PVC or ABS.

APPLICATIONS

MANCHESTER applications include:

Wastewater
Iron and Manganese Removal
Drinking Water
Oil Field Product Water
Organic Removal

As shown here, Manchester's unique distribution and collection systems assure optimum flux during service and backwash. Distribution nozzles are precisely configured to ensure that flow reaches evenly to the outer edges of the bed.

The collection system is positioned in the vessel so that it accepts clean effluent and rejects even the smallest media particles.

Peak Performance

By carefully selecting combinations of media grades and densities for each application, media migration and replenishment are reduced. Runtimes of 8 to 24 hours are attained.

Backwashing Effectiveness

A fully automatic backwashing sequence begins when the filter reaches a programmed differential pressure, typically 25 psi. Air or gas is evenly bubbled through the bed to agitate all the media grains. The resulting grain-to-grain scrubbing action overcomes the adsorption of particulate, oil and gelatinous material collected on the grain.
Contaminants are removed from the bed with a strong water flush, and in special applications, backwashing is enhanced with chemical injection. After backwashing, the permanent media grains return to their original arrangement of fine layer over coarse layer in "like new" condition.

We specialize in wastewater treatment equipment, air pollution control & water purification systems.
