Rugged Plate-and-Frame Filter Presses are designed for the rapid and convenient removal of water from slurries generated by waste treatment operations. For the metal finisher, these presses produce "dry" cake with up to 40% solids content, greatly reducing the cost of waste disposal to regulated landfills.
The all-plastic filter plates are fitted with recessed gaskets to eliminate leakage, and are designed for easy access for removal of the filter cake. The 470 mm size is built to accept one or two 55- gallon drums directly beneath the press, to minimize the need to handle the sludge cake.
Closure is by hydraulic pressure either using a hand pump (470 mm models) or an air-operated hydraulic pump, integrally mounted on the frame.
The frames are built of heavy steel weldment, and all metal parts of the presses are painted with a double coat of corrosion resistant epoxy paint, to insure a long, maintenance-free operating life.
Available accessories include a filter-aid preparation station for use with "sticky" materials such as paint booth sludges which tend to "blind" ordinary filter cloths, a filter cake cart, an "under-the-press" drier to remove the remaining water, and special supporting structures to accommodate cake handling bins or totes.
